In the heart of Helsinki, Finland, amidst the snow-laden streets in January, educational professionals, educational players and policy-makers, and innovators gather for the Educa fair. This two-day event at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre is a highlight of each year as well as a source inspiration, learning, and networking that draws together a diverse list of companies, organizations, and individuals with a shared passion for education and learning.
From the Press Centre, I stepped down the stairs into the bustling halls of the convention center, I was immediately engulfed by the warm, inclusive and welcoming energy of the event.

The event is organised by the Trade Union of Education (OAJ) and it consists of high-quality lectures that are free of charge to visitors. The event provides information on the latest developments in the field of education.
Everywhere I turned, there were booths adorned with colorful banners and eager representatives ready to showcase their latest educational offerings.
One of the highlights of my Educa 2024 experience was the opportunity to engage with numerous publishing houses. From established giants to up-and-coming independent publishers, each booth was a treasure trove of literary delights waiting to be discovered. As an avid reader and lifelong learner, I relished the chance to peruse through a plethora of educational materials, ranging from textbooks and workbooks.
Amidst the plethora of booths, one institution stood out prominently – Keuda Vocational College. At the Keuda booth, I was greeted by passionate Keuda employees and students. Their commitment to equipping learners with practical skills and real-world experience resonated deeply with me, underscoring the importance of fostering a holistic approach to education that nurtures both academic and vocational pathways.
Beyond the exhibition halls, Educa 2024 offered a diverse array of workshops, seminars, and panel discussions that delved into the most pressing issues facing education today. The themes of the international Educa 2024 were: Digitalisation and Artificial intelligence | Future belief, safety and wellbeing | Encounters, teachers and students | Diversity and future skills at teaching and teacher training | Sustainable development, green transition and responsibility. On the Equity stage, several presentations on hot topics in education took place and you can find all videos from the keynotes and presentations.
This year again I forged new connections, gained invaluable insights, and reignited my passion for lifelong learning and working in education. As I left the Helsinki Convention Center and embarked on my journey home, I carried with me a renewed sense of purpose and optimism. Educa 2024 had not only reaffirmed my belief in the transformative power of education and ignited my spark to continue my career in higher education.
